JOHN FOGERTY

9pm

John Fogerty considers himself a lucky man.  His fans know well the saga of his career after the break up of Creedence Clearwater Revival.  The man who wrote "Proud Mary," "Fortunate Son" and "Bad Moon Rising" became as well known for his troubles as he was for his music.  But as he concentrated on his happy life as a husband and father and less on music, a funny thing happened.  Music came pouring out of him.  With a healthy new perspective on his past and a renewed sense of optimism for the future, Fogerty created a new album that could only be called Revival.  He has since followed with The Blue Ridge Ranger Rides Again and most recently a 25th Anniversary edition of Centerfield.

VINYL .

5:15pm and 8pm

Vinyl is the rare sort of band that can meld funk, Latin jazz, dub and reggae without coming across as pale imitators of the style of the moment.  Instead, Vinyl can alternately sound like the best live funk, Latin, reggae or dub band you've heard in ages -- and occasionally, all at the same time.  Instead of going for flash or gimmicks, Vinyl brings it with fierce musicianship and zesty abandon, proving you can have both substance and style.  It's an approach that has made the band favorites of the festival circuit, but the best place to experience them is on the dance floor of a hot, sweaty indoor venue.

SHERYL CROW: 100 MILES FROM MEMPHIS

9pm

For Sheryl Crow, the title of her 7th album isn't just a location; it's a state of mind.  "I grew up in a small town 100 miles from Memphis, and that informed not only my musical taste, but how I look at life," she says.  "The music that came out of that part of the world is a part of who I am, and it's the biggest inspiration for what I do and why I do it."  So for the Kennett, Missouri native, calling the disc 100 Miles From Memphis is a statement of purpose, both musical and emotional.  The album evokes a time when soul and passion filled the radio waves, when the sweat and joy of a recording session could be captured forever on wax.  It also marks a long-awaited return by the nine-time Grammy winner to the sounds that first drew her to making music.
